Energy Efficiency: 7 days to sustainability – Day 3

Continuing on our Planet Positive 7 days to sustainability challenge, today is all about energy efficiency. This is an area we’re pretty familiar with in terms of client work but today we’re turning the low-energy spotlight on our own office.

Last week I got in a bit of homework and invited David Lewis of Bright Green Shoots, an energy and carbon consultancy, into our snug to share some ideas on what we could do to improve energy efficiency here in the Life Size office.

Next up I’m tackling energy efficiency in the Life Size Media kitchen. I’m joined by Peter Ingelow designer of the Eco Kettle who kindly lets us have one for our very own.

The 7 days to sustainability challenge is not just about making changes the office but about motivating employees to make positive changes across their lives. With this in mind, our client Onzo has kindly agreed to let everyone at Life Size Media have their very own smart energy kit. Head of Marketing, Victoria Spooner shows me how it works. Be prepared for highly competitive energy data sharing over the weeks to come.

And finally, as suggested, I’m doing my office sweep to find all those little things that are left on that shouldn’t be. To my surprise there were a few culprits that don’t need to be at any point like the AC (banned) and heaters (emergencies only). Just goes to show there are some pretty simple things you can do to make a difference.
