Life Size, Europe’s cleantech communications agency, is looking for a Brand Manager to join our journey and we believe we have something unique for you.

We’re offering the opportunity to help build brands for fast-growing clean technology companies across Europe and to work with game-changing environmental solutions.

Our clients include technologies in electric vehicles, energy storage, battery systems, bioplastics and digital energy. You’ll be part of a team that’s responsible for the stories and strategies behind this rapidly emerging sector’s global successes.

You will have the opportunity to craft brand strategies and visual identities, managing design projects and leading our creative team. We have a highly integrated approach to communications including brand, content, PR and film, and we’ll want your input in every aspect. The primary accountabilities for this role are:

  • Co-develop effective brand and design strategies
  • Deliver brand campaigns in line with the strategy, timeframe and budget
  • Maintain excellent client relationships
  • Manage delegation and development within the brand team (including related freelancers)
  • Support with brand sales

Some attributes that are particularly important for us:

  • Real passion for the potential of technology to tackle climate change
  • Track record of developing effective brand strategy and identity
  • Deep emotional intelligence and ability to build relationships
  • Understanding of the complex technical and commercial world of our clients
  • Ability to balance strategic and creative thinking

We are open to applications from either London or Berlin, so you’ll either be based in the historic Tea Building in the heart of Shoreditch or SpaceShack in beautiful Schöneberg. Both are attractive co-working spaces, with onsite cafés, free events, talks and fitness classes (optional!).

Life Size Media is a small, specialist communications agency working exclusively in cleantech and sustainable innovation. We are proud to work with some of the most exciting companies in this sector delivering fully integrated, highly effective communications campaigns.

We are now looking for an outstanding Marketing and Design Manager. This is a highly varied role that would suit someone who excels in a fast-paced, ever-changing working environment. If you’re looking to deliver excellent work in a sector that you feel passionately about, we want to hear from you.

Marketing and Design Manager responsibilities

You will plan and manage all of the marketing and design work that we deliver for our clients, both as part of integrated campaigns and as standalone projects. You will be working directly with our CEO and alongside our PR manager. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing a wide variety of marketing and design projects from planning through to conception
  • Ensuring design projects are completed on time, brief and budget
  • Writing project briefs and timelines and ensuring clear client communication throughout
  • Producing a wide range of marketing collateral from brochures to business cards to banners
  • Managing website projects
  • Writing engaging copy for a wide range of materials and purposes
  • Sourcing and managing freelance designers, developers and other creatives
  • Working alongside the PR manager on integrated campaigns
  • Managing client relationships, planning marketing strategy and deliverables within budgets
  • Updating existing marketing collateral (basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud required)
  • Developing and maintaining client brands
  • Securing and pricing new work
  • Contributing to the promotion of Life Size Media

Required skills and experience

  • At least five years’ experience in a marketing role, with two years in a senior position, preferably within an agency environment
  • Extremely strong project management skills
  • Strong understanding of design and branding processes and trends
  • Proven track record of delivering design and website projects
  • Ability to write fluent and engaging marketing content for a range of materials and audiences
  • Ability to make minor amends and updates to existing collateral
  • Confidence providing strategic guidance to clients and planning effective marketing campaigns
  • Experience building strong relationships with clients
  • A clear interest in the cleantech industry
  • A second language is an advantage.

Location: Shoreditch, London.

Salary: £30-35,000 (pro rata), depending on experience and time with the company.

Contract: Permanent, 4 days a week. These days can be taken flexibly from week to week.

Schematic sketches and tailored typography: Life Size Media welcomes new designer to the team

One of the things that makes us unique is our ability to deliver PR and design services side by side. If a press release would be stronger with an infographic, we draw it. When we’re designing a website, we’re also crafting the story and writing the content. It’s common sense really but there aren’t many agencies that do it.

Over the last year, demand for campaigns with integrated design has just kept coming. Our designer Jenny may be terrifically talented but she does need to sleep sometimes too. And so we’d like to introduce you to the latest member of our team, Joel Pascual, who has joined us as Junior Designer.

“Joel has a fresh way of thinking and an unbridled passion for design. I look forward to working with him to produce some standout work in 2015,” comments Jenny Abittan, Senior Designer at Life Size Media.

Joel worked with Life Size Media on some key projects in 2014, including the eye-catching technology brochure that we created for Enval. One of his particular skills is illustration, as he demonstrated with this impressive bespoke schematic of Enval’s process, which forms the centerpiece of the brochure.

A Graphic Design graduate from Falmouth College of Art, Joel is particularly geeky about all things typographic. He’s the only person we know to have designed their own font for fun (although apparently it’s actually a typeface)!
