A market-leading EV fast-charging technology provider striving for rapid growth. Kempower designs and manufactures DC fast-charging solutions for electric vehicles.

The challenge

Initially, Kempower was well-known in the Nordics but not so much in other European countries.

The company wanted to showcase its vision and become a genuine industry thought leader, increasing its European reputation in the process.

To manage this, we needed to achieve frequent media coverage outside of Finland and evolve Kempower’s target markets and customer groups due to the company’s rapid global growth. We also wanted to showcase the team’s thought leadership to increase Kempower’s visibility in a competitive industry.

The solution

Our solution was a comprehensive, global PR campaign. We achieved this by tailoring our communications strategy to Kempower’s commercial goals and regularly updating it to reflect Kempower’s rapid growth.

Leading with vision and key messages, we reinforced the USPs of Kempower’s technology and its vision for a carbon-free future in all PR activities. More specifically, we showcased the team’s technical expertise through thought leadership articles and interview opportunities. We also focused our pitching efforts on publications in Kempower’s target markets, raising its media profile in these regions to help attract new customers and partners.

The results

High-impact media attention has contributed to Kempower’s tremendous revenue growth in Europe outside of the Nordics. In 2022, Kempower achieved EUR 104 million in revenue, representing 279% year-on-year growth. It increased its revenues in Europe outside of the Nordics by 898% compared to 2021.

Kempower’s impressive revenue results and rapid international expansion are reflected in the work we did for them in 2022, which included 54 press releases covering 18 countries, resulting in 330 pieces of coverage outside of the Nordics. In addition, we secured mainstream interviews with Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal.
