Why employee ownership?
Employee ownership was the only logical business model for us at Life Size after our founder Alisa stepped down as CEO and into a new phase in her life. It ensures longevity, that our founders’ legacy is upheld and that our mission is protected. It’s the only business model that embodies who we are as individuals and allows us to achieve our shared goal of using our skills and expertise to guide climate tech companies to success.
Being employee-owned
What does being employee-owned mean for us day-to-day?
In practical terms, being employee-owned means we have a shared responsibility for our business. This, for example, directly impacts what “growing our business” looks like at Life Size.
It’s a collaborative process that consists of identifying companies we feel we would enjoy working with, establishing a connection and nurturing it from the get-go. It also allows us to contribute to long-term company goals that impact how we work together and how we show up for our clients and the climate tech ecosystem.
Our work matters
Being employee-owned ultimately means being empowered employees who know that their work, and how they show up every day, matters. It matters to them and their colleagues, to the business, the climate tech ecosystem and the wider world.
Hold on a minute, what is employee ownership?
The Employee Ownership Association defines it as follows and we couldn’t say it better!
“Employee-owned businesses are totally or significantly owned by their employees. […] Employee-owned businesses achieve higher productivity and greater levels of innovation and are more resilient to economic turbulence. They also have more engaged, more fulfilled, and less stressed workforces.”
